Inclusive Design Principles

We have an ambition to create places that are truly inclusive. To achieve this, our designs, our way of working and our teams must be aligned to this goal. Therefore, our inclusive design principles address the places, processes and knowledge and skills required to deliver truly inclusive spaces that are fit for the  21st century.

Our principles

We have three key inclusive design principles: inclusive places, inclusive processes and inclusive knowledge and skills. Each of these are split into three to four sub-principles that give more detailed insight into the fundamental ideas, alongside a suggested list of activities and considerations that you can incorporate into your projects, and case studies that provide practical examples of where these ideas are already working.
