Reverse mentoring for an inclusive future
Earlier this year, nine executive leadership team members (ELT) were each paired with a more junior colleague for a six-month reverse mentoring opportunity.
Ahead Partnership
Ahead Partnership is a social value specialist committed to supporting young people to develop valuable employability skills while inspiring them about careers in industries with skills shortages. We partner with them across the UK to run a bespoke youth engagement programme including mentoring, workplace visits and a “Made In” challenge, giving young people the opportunity to learn about careers in retail and design a retail space of the future.
Construction Youth Trust
Construction Youth Trust is a social mobility charity that inspires and enables young people to reach their full career potential by connecting them with employers and opportunities in construction, including the property sector. Through their long-standing partnerships with employers, CYT connect young people to relatable role models, world of work experiences and, ultimately, meaningful employment, education and training. We work with the charity in both Southwark and Lewisham, supporting school coaching programmes and providing volunteers to share their experiences of what it's like working in the built environment.
The King's Trust
The King's Trust helps young people facing the greatest adversity by supporting them to build the confidence and skills to live, learn and earn. As supporters of The King's Trust Achieve programme, we provide students with invaluable insights from the placemaking sector, offering inspiring World of Work experiences for those who may need additional assistance to succeed in education.
Regeneration Brainery
Regeneration Brainery inspires 14-21 year olds to consider careers in the built environment sector by providing them with weeklong bootcamps, giving an insight into the industry through interactive workshops and visits to exciting local regeneration project and connection them to industry by sourcing hands-on work experience. We support by engaging in their Manchester bootcamps, with our colleagues sharing an insight into their roles and showing students around our spaces.
BounceBack
BounceBack works inside and outside prison to support people with a history of offending and those at risk to build resilience, gain industry qualifications and transition into employment, primarily within construction. We support their employability programme, primarily their through-the-gate provision and provide our colleagues with volunteering opportunities.
Circle Collective
Circle Collective works with young people (16-24 years) experiencing unemployment and barriers to employment, giving them the skills, work experience and confidence to find sustainable employment. Their holistic Back Your Future programme has helped over 1400 young people find work across a variety of sectors. We financially support their work, provide them with volunteers, as well as providing them space at Lewisham Shopping Centre. Circle Collective have also supported the Landsec Futures internship programme by providing pastoral and employment support to all of our intern cohorts
Resurgo
Resurgo's Spear Programme helps unemployed young people aged 16-24 facing significant barriers to employment into work or education, by equipping them with confidence, motivation and skills. We support the programme by providing mock interviews, career talks and company visits for the young people on the programme.
Young Westminster Foundation
Young Westminster Foundation empowers young people in Westminster through a network of youth organisations and charities, including 2-3 Degrees, St Andrew's Youth Club and Caxton Youth Trust. We support the Mastering My Future Programme, delivered by 2-3 Degrees, which is designed to raise young people's awareness of the employability opportunities available to them and build skills in confidence, self-esteem and communication to engage with leading employers.
The Passage
The Passage supports vulnerable people experiencing homelessness in Westminster, including rough sleepers, by providing emergency accommodation, welfare, and employment support. We support The Passage employability programme, provides volunteers for events such as the Summer Garden Party fundraiser, and host food and clothing collections in building receptions
PEEK
PEEK supports young people through various programme, aimed at increasing personal and social development and allowing young people closer to a life without inequality. We support their young person volunteering programme, allowing young people to gain qualifications while volunteering in their local communities.
20/20 Levels
20/20 Levels is youth empowerment organisation who help young people realise their potential and develop the right mindset to engage with today's society. We support the I AM CHANGE employability programme, which supports young people over a 12-week period which focusses on skill building, leadership training and mindset transformation to prepare young people for work.
Young Camden Foundation
Young Camden Foundation is a membership and infrastructure charity set up to support its 160+ members, representing the children and young people voluntary sector in Camden through grants, training and more. LandSec supports their Young Ambassador programme, giving a cohort of young people each year experience to develop their skills and become local ambassadors of the youth sector and the needs of young people in the Borough of Camden.
Key4Life
Key4Life helps turn around the lives of young men aged 18-30 who are in prison or are At Risk of offending. The charity’s innovative 7-step rehabilitation programme includes equine therapy, music and football to unlock pain and increase emotional resilience, confidence and motivation. Crucially, the programme also focuses on mentorship, employability training and securing employment for participants. We support the Through the Gate (prison) and At Risk programmes, which help young men build brighter futures, contribute positively towards society and break the cycle of reoffending.
Young Lives Foundation
Young Lives Foundation supports young people, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights and interests are respected, all while supporting them through times of difficulty and distress, assisting them to achieve their potential. We support their mentoring programme, with our colleagues helping young people aged 16-21 gain employability skills and help them towards the next step in their education or employment journey.
Aspire Oxford
Aspire Oxford helps people facing barriers including homelessness, mental health issues, long-term unemployment and with offending backgrounds. Aspire offers a range of impactful person-centred programs, including employment support which we support, moving those with barriers to employment towards employment, education. or training.
Cardinal Hume Centre
The Cardinal Hume Centre supports young people, children and families, at risk of homelessness. Offering services including employment and housing advice and free legal support, and an onsite high support hostel for young people. We support their employability programme, as well as providing volunteers for seasonal events and centre upkeep and specialist pro-bono support.
Salford Foundation
Salford Foundation supports young people and adults through life readiness, targeted support and male/female tailored programmes to support people back into employment, education and training. We support the charities' employability services, which aim to move people with barriers to employment into sustained employment
The Booth Centre
The Booth Centre is a community space, run in partnership with people impacted by homelessness and poverty across Greater Manchester. We support their Employment & Skills programme, which works with people to help build skills, apply for work and gain employment.
XLP
XLP work to support young people growing up in inner-city London to keep them in school and out of gangs and anti-social behaviour by building positive long-term relationships and helping young people to set positive goals and work hard to achieve them. We support their Employability Programmes, including the Job Creation Scheme, which creates 10 apprentices each year in youth and community work, allowing young people to gain qualifications relevant to their role and skills.
LandAid
LandAid is the property industry’s charity that has a mission to end youth homelessness in the UK. Through their network of charity and property partners, they provide homes, jobs and skills to thousands of young people at risk of or experiencing homelessness, building their foundations to grow. We support them with funding, advocacy and volunteering, including giving pro-bono business expertise to LandAid's network of homeless charities, creating positive social impact in communities across the country.
Pompey in the Community
Pompey in the Community use the power of Portsmouth Football Club to promote education, healthy living, sporting participation and achievement among vulnerable and disadvantaged people of all ages living in and around Portsmouth. We fund the Futures Programme, a 12-week initiative designed to empower individuals with additional needs to acquire essential life and professional skills to move into volunteering and employment.
Providence Row Providence Row supports people affected by homelessness in East London and provides them with advice, access to healthcare, warm meals and training and employability programmes. We support their employability programme, as well as providing them with volunteers to help serve food to their clients in their kitchen and grow vegetables, fruits and cooking herbs in their rooftop garden.
First Stop Centre First Stop Centre supports vulnerable people facing multiple barriers including mental health issues and homelessness towards employment, education and training. We support their employability work, as well as assisting with volunteers with their key events and initiatives.
